The Muslim Interscholastic Tournament (MIST)â„¢ consists of annual regional tournaments that take place across the United States and Canada. The winners from each regional tournament qualify to compete at the annual Nationals tournament. MIST currently features 35 different competition that happen over about two to three days, followed by the Awards Ceremony to end the program. Follow them on Instagram @mistphilly for the latest updates.
The Muslim Interscholastic Tournament is a weekend long tournament that host a series of competitions within 5 different categories (arts, sports, writing and oratory, group competitions, and brackets). One of our most popular competitions is from the brackets category and what we like to call MIST Bowl (it's like jeopardy but better). If there’s one competition that shows you the hype, knowledge, and competitiveness of MIST it is this competition. Teams compete against other groups in which a moderator reads a question and the first team to buzz in gets to answer (but depending on the round answering wrong can lead to penalties).Â
We would love to bring a preview of MIST to the festival to give everyone a taste of how fun MIST can be. Stay tuned for more details on how you can get involved!
"We are committed to presenting a festival whose performers and organizers are as racially and ethnically diverse as the great metropolis they call home. And as a consequence of this goal of diversity, all events at the Festival will be available without tickets, so that all who visit one of the many Festival venues can do so for free."
We firmly believe this festival can make a positive impact on interfaith understanding, especially in a region founded upon the creed of religious tolerance. By celebrating our cultural differences, the festival challenges the purveyors of bigotry and hate, and seeks to strengthen the bonds between different communities of faith by fostering mutual understanding across religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Your sponsorship will demonstrate your commitment to these ideals. Â Your support will make this festival and all the events associated with it free-of-charge and open to the public.Â
