Now, three Muslim organizations in Philadelphia -- (CAIR-Philadelphia), Muslim City Fest (MCF), and the Islamic Cultural Preserva tion and Information Council (ICPIC) -- have formed a historic partnership to produce: The Festival of Arts & Culture Festival of the Muslim Communities of Philadelphia: will be a 7-month long series of public programs and performances in many artistic disciplines, including folkloric dance, music, poetry and spoken word, arts and crafts, fashion, and the culinary arts from dozens of Muslim majority nations around the world.
For American Muslims, the Muslim Arts Fes tival will be an opportunity to celebrate and take pride in the rich cultural expression and diversity of Muslim Americans of the Philadelphia region and its 400,000 Muslim residents. Non-Muslim Festival guests will learn much about their Muslim neighbors, thus directly addressing the anti-Muslim bigotry of the past years.
